The Bronx is Building, is a project which consists of still photography, and short videos that showcase the positive transformations happening throughout the borough. Filmmaker/Photographer, Leyla Tatiana Rosario takes pride in being a Bronx, New York native. Her personal experiences have made her realize that she wants to help change the misjudged impression of The Bronx. With eco-friendly residential buildings, green initiatives happening at schools and organizations such as CUNY Prep, Rocking the Boat, and Green Worker Cooperatives, a spanking new Yankee Stadium, Bronx Terminal Market, and Hunts Point Vision Plan; The Bronx is getting a full-on makeover without forgetting its roots.

Let's put a spotlight on The Bronx! Some of the angles TBIB will focus on is: Positive changes/informing the public. Who are the people involved? What businesses are involved? How does this benefit residents, visitors, the public and community? During this financial crisis, everyone is affected in some way, shape, or form. With that said, the impact of all these changes happening in The Bronx will hopefully raise the communities spirits, and most importantly boost its economy, educate and inspire our youth, provide jobs, highlight the arts/history, showcase the importance of green initiatives, and attract more tourism.

Portrait and landscape photography will showcase people in a very dignified and positive aspect. It will establish the setting in which the subject is photographed, highlight those who are involved in the transformation process, as well as the people who are affected by the changes. The short videos aka "webisodes" will document interviews, real public opinions, the importance of community change. (Top right photo: Concrete Plant Park, Top left photo: Ms. Cindy Spector, Faculty Liaison with student at CUNY Prep, Bottom right: Kia, Rocking the Boat student).

The Bronx is NOT Burning....it is Building.
